Deep Tissue

The purpose of deep tissue massage is to release the tension deep within the muscle and connective tissue. Targeting chronic muscle tension.

Use with moderate experience in massage. Techniques used in this modality include

deep pressure stokes with the forearm, fist, and hand as well as finger pressure.

During a deep tissue session be sure to take consistent deep breathes

throughout the session. Expect some soreness following the session.

Trigger Point

Trigger point therapy is a modality that targets trigger points. Trigger points are tight areas in muscle tissue that cause pain and discomfort. These are likely caused by the consistent contraction of the muscle. Trigger points also alert pain in other parts of the body. The therapist will focus on these points in order to release them.

Reiki

Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that originated in Japan. It involves the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner's palms to their patient. This energy is believed to help facilitate healing by promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and restoring balance to the body's energy centers. Reiki is often used in conjunction with traditional medical treatment as a complementary therapy, but it is not meant to replace conventional medicine.

Each layer of the aura is believed to serve a different function, such as protection, communication, and energy exchange. Practices like Reiki, meditation, and visualization are often used to help cleanse, balance, and strengthen the aura for overall well-being

Chakra’s

Chakras are believed to be centers of energy within the body according to various spiritual traditions, particularly in Hinduism and Buddhism. There are usually seven main chakras that are believed to align along the spine, starting from the base up to the crown of the head. Each chakra is associated with different aspects of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

When working with chakras we use crystals associated with each chakra center and sound healing instruments to achieve balance in each center.

The seven main chakras are:

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) - located at the base of the spine, associated with stability, security, and basic needs.

2. Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana) - positioned below the navel, connected to creativity, sensuality, and emotions.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) - located in the upper abdomen, linked to personal power, confidence, and self-esteem.

4. Heart Chakra (Anahata) - situated in the center of the chest, related to love, compassion, and relationships.

5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) - positioned at the throat, associated with communication, self-expression, and truth.

6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) - located between the eyebrows, linked to intuition, inner wisdom, and insight.

7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) - situated at the top of the head, connected to spirituality, enlightenment, and oneness with the universe

CranioSacral massage is a gentle,

hands-on therapy that involves manipulating the bones of the skull and the lower spine to promote natural healing in the body. It focuses on releasing tension and restrictions in the craniosacral system, which includes the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. This type of massage is often used to address a variety of conditions, including headaches, chronic pain, stress, and emotional issues. It aims to improve the functioning of the central nervous system and enhance the body's ability to self-correct and heal.

Reflexology

Reflexology on the foot works with the reflex areas that correspond with the glands, organs & parts of the body. Often times, energy can become blocked. Reflexology is thought to clear the path for better communication between the organs and the rest of the body’s energy fields. Another theory maintains that putting pressure on points in the foot during reflexology can help break up lactic acid crystals that stop energy flow.

Pre/Post Natal

Massage is very useful during pregnancy. Alleviating pain in the neck, back, hips, legs, & feet. Helps reduce pain during childbirth. Along with easing insomnia, improving mood, uplifting depression and reducing stress.

Lymphatic massage, also known as lymphatic drainage massage, is a gentle and rhythmic technique that helps to stimulate the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is a network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials. Lymphatic massage uses light pressure and long, flowing strokes to encourage the natural drainage of lymph fluid, which can help reduce swelling, boost the immune system, and promote overall wellness. This type of massage is often used to treat conditions like lymphedema, post-operative swelling, and detoxification.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork that involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to promote healing and relaxation. This technique is based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, particularly the idea of energy pathways in the body called meridians. In Shiatsu, the therapist uses their fingers, thumbs, palms, and sometimes elbows or knees to apply pressure to these points, aiming to balance the flow of energy and improve the function of the body's organs. Shiatsu is often used to reduce stress, relieve tension, and alleviate various health conditions such as muscle pain, headaches, and digestive issues.

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai yoga massage, also known as Thai massage or Thai bodywork, is a traditional healing system that combines acupressure, Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. During a Thai yoga massage session, the practitioner uses their hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches while applying muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure. This therapeutic technique is designed to balance the body's energy, improve flexibility, and relieve tension. Thai yoga massage is often performed on a mat on the floor, and the recipient remains fully clothed. It is known for its relaxing and invigorating effects on the body and mind.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts, known as essential oils, to promote health and well-being. These essential oils are extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots, or other parts of plants and are believed to have therapeutic properties. Aromatherapy can be administered in various ways, including inhalation, topical application, and aromatherapy massage. Different essential oils are believed to have different effects on the body and mind, such as relaxation, stress relief, improved sleep, and pain relief. Aromatherapy is often used in conjunction with other therapies to enhance physical and emotional health.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is a type of alternative medicine where cups are placed on the skin to create suction. This suction is believed to stimulate blood flow, promote healing, and relieve muscle tension. In massage therapy, cupping is often used in conjunction with other techniques to help release tight muscles, improve circulation, and reduce pain. The cups used in cupping therapy can be made of glass, silicone, or plastic, and they may be left in place or moved around the skin during the treatment. Cupping therapy is known for leaving temporary marks on the skin that resemble circular bruises, but these marks typically fade within a few days.
